Why Germany was involved in African territory?
The reason Germany was involved in the African territory was for competition of preeminence. Germany was competing for power within European power politics. Germany wasn't the only country fighting for African territory, Britain, France, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, and Spain were too.

Did German East Africa have materials (gold, silver etc.) that Germany would've wanted, or was it more just for the competition of having an African territory?
